WHAT IS LIFE FEST?

Life Fest is the unique film festival honoring the significance of each and every life, and in particular, the innocent life. Born in Hollywood, it is now virtually seen throughout the world. Life Fest features long-time members of the entertainment industry and fosters new and aspiring filmmakers to tell inspiring and insightful stories. By honoring the seemingly small and insignificant life, we believe we walk in the finest traditions of the storytelling craft.

Our signature award is the Capra, named for the classic director who understood and reflected the theme of Life Fest: the seemingly insignificant individual is of vital importance and can dramatically change the entire world around them.

Storytelling legacy. Our ongoing outreach reminds filmmakers of the importance of good stories, and encourages more of them. Thousands of films have been submitted over the years, but only 480 fit our high standards. Many producers of note have a Life Fest plaque on their mantle. And they have been willing  to meet and interact with the younger filmmakers who attend looking to perfect their craft. They are entering into what is one of the most powerful industries in the world. Hollywood has the ability to guide and influence both hearts and minds, and we believe it should encourage LIFE.

IS THIS A RELIGIOUS FILM FESTIVAL?

No. Although we welcome 'faith-based' films, our theme is slightly different. Think of the principles of 'self-evident truth' to which the American Founders refer, and where the "Right to Life" movement draws its name. True moral judgement is understood by observing "the laws of nature and nature's God."

The nature of how things really are is revealed in God's creation. (Romans 1:10) (Psalm 8: "When I consider the heavens..." Psalm 19, etc.)  So, our basic guiding principle is that which has echoed through the ages, and expressed again in America's founding:  Honoring innocent human lives has been a vital part of all just cultures, and is the essential hallmark of our civilization.

HOW DOES THIS SITE WORK?

Our site is open year-round, and exists to accomplish the ongoing goals of Life Fest.  (See "What is Life Fest," above)

The Film Festival Portion is open for a limited and defined period. Paid viewers are eligible to vote on films viewed. (Please see how to vote link) Once tallied, the results are made known and the award Ceremony announced.

The year-round site will continue to offer a rotating choice of films, workshops, briefings and training. It is an ongoing "Institute" to develop this important aspect of the filmmaker's art.
